  • What happens if I do not have insurance cover?

    If you do not have comprehensive car insurance, you will have to pay for more expensive costs in case you get in a road accident or your car gets damaged by a natural calamity.

  • What is Compulsory Third Party Liability?

    Compulsory Third Party Liability (CPTL) is coverage mandated by law for the registration of any motor vehicle that will be driven on public highways. This covers the death and/or physical injury of a third party victim in an accident caused by the insured vehicle. The maximum benefit for CPTL is P100,000.

  • What is COC? What is its difference from CPTL?

    COC means Confirmation of Cover. It is a document shown to the Land Transportation Office when you register your vehicle as proof of your CPTL policy.

  • What is No Fault Indemnity?

    It is the maximum amount that the insurance company will pay to the third party injured or killed in an accident wherein the insured vehicle is involved without the need of proving fault or negligence on the part of the insured. The maximum amount under this benefit is P15,000 per person.

  • What are the required documents to claim under No Fault Indemnity?

    The insured must present the following documents to the insurance provider: police report of accident or any evidence sufficient to establish the accident, medical report and evidence of medical or hospital expenses, and/or death certificate and evidence sufficient to establish the proper payee.

  • What does deductible mean?

    It is the amount of the first part of the cost of a claim, which the insured has to bear in conformity to the terms of the insurance. These are the standard deductibles under the Motor Tariff: Private Car 0.5% of sum insured under Sec. III – Loss and damage, minimum of P2,000 Commercial Vehicles 1.0% of sum insured under Sec. II – Loss and damage, minimum of P3,000

  • What are the required documents to file a claim for accidental damage on the insured vehicle?

    The insured must present the following to the insurance provider: policy, policy report or a notarized affidavit executed by the assured or the authorized driver thereof, photocopy of the certificate of registration and official receipt of the insured unit, photocopy of the driver’s license and official receipt of the person driving when the accident occurred, pictures of the damage sustained by the unit showing the damage and the whole car with license plate visible, and repair estimate.

  • What will happen if I do not pay the premium?

    All rights under the policy will be forfeited.

  • Can the insurance provider cancel a policy?

    The insurance company may cancel a policy upon prior notice to the insured. No notice of cancellation is effective unless it is based on non-payment of premium, conviction of a crime arising out of acts increasing the hazard insured against, discovery of fraud or material misrepresentation, discovery of willful or reckless act or omission increasing the hazard insured against, physical changes in the insured vehicle which results in the vehicle becoming uninsurable, or determination by the commissioner that the continuation of the policy would place the insurer in violation of this code.

  • May the insured cancel a policy?

    The insured may cancel a policy upon notice to the insurance provider under the terms of the policy.
